Jordan Vauvert C'est vrai, il m'a marqué ce titre — "Psygnosis is Shit" —, choqué même : une hérésie, surtout quand ça provient du groupe lui-même. Mais voilà : Psygnosis avait déjà vu dans le futur et Mercury, qui sort cinq ans plus tard, est encore meilleur. Si le violon était le centre de gravité dans N E P T U N E, ici on a un système dans lequel tous les éléments donnent un spectacle à couper le souffle.
Et une envie de pleurer à partir de "Sunshine" qui ne m'aura pas lâché jusqu'à la fin de l'album... Favorite track: Eclipse.

olutvuohi This album got me hooked to Psygnosis’ current sound. The albums prior to this one’s predecessor, Neptune, are no slouch either but the transition to an instrumental approach with a cello has put them above their peers. It’s not fair to say “if you like Apocalyptica, you’ll like Psygnosis” as Psygnosis bring a more extreme attack than the Finns. I think it will more than exceed the expectations of any fan of extreme instrumental music. Favorite track: Eclipse.

PSYGNOSIS make a distinctly progressive type of death metal. For one, the French band doesn’t have a vocalist. Instead, they’ve got a cellist. This heady configuration tempers Mercury with a sublime beauty. Their first album for Season of Mist is full of wide, sweeping vistas that are spiked with metallic muscle, but also, ringed with deep sensitivity. It’s an eye-opening panorama and a breath of fresh air for death metal.
